Qualifications
Ideal candidates will hold a minimum master's degree. They will have excellent interpersonal, time management, and communication skills. Candidates will have a functional and pedagogical understanding of adopting a life-course perspective to explore the determinants of good health in old age, including biology, urban environment, childhood experiences, availability of support services, education and health literacy, clinical prevention and self-care. An understanding of Canadian policy and programs, and those worldwide is advantageous.
Summary of duties and responsibilities
Responsibilities of the teaching assistant will include: moderating discussion boards and facilitating deep class discussions; timely and effective communication with students, the instructor, and other TA(s); creativity and a willingness to contribute substantially to developing excellent course content (including coordinating with guest lecturers); pre-testing quizzes and exams and grading written assignments and exams.
