Dual Degree Program

Canada is an amazing country in which to live and learn. Your Canadian degree will be a perfect start for whatever career you want to pursue—wherever in the world you want to take it (including right here in Canada, if you choose). Our high quality, public and affordable education system offers practical life skills you won’t find outside our borders. Recognized worldwide, a University of Victoria degree will open doors to wherever you want to go.

2+2 structure

In the first two years, students complete pre-commerce courses (a mix of required courses and electives). In year three and four, students complete their Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) courses.

Dual Degree students apply for entry directly into year three of the BCom program, after successfully completing a minimum of two years at their home institution. Upon completion of the BCom program, students will graduate with two degrees, a BCom degree from the Gustavson School of Business and a degree from their home institution.

For a typical schedule for BCom students, visit the program information page.

Co-op work terms

You will complete three paid mandatory co-op work terms by the time you graduate. That is close to one year of full-time work experience!

  • Students who have previous work experience are eligible to challenge one of the co-op work terms.  You only need to complete two additional regular co-op work terms in Year 3 and Year 4.
  • Your dedicated co-op coordinator will coach you through your co-op journey from day one.
  • You can apply for a co-op work term anywhere in the world—right here in Victoria, across Canada, or even internationally.
