Mike has worked on the boards of entrepreneurial companies throughout his career in the UK and in China. He was CEO of GoodBrand, the international innovation consultancy, until its acquisition by Anthesis in 2019. He is also co-founder of Impact Hub Kings Cross London and also GLO - Good Leaders Online, Shanghai and Brussels.
Mike was professor of management practice at the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai and director of the European Centre for Leadership and Responsibility 2009-13. His research work in wise leadership has been published in various book chapters, the most recent being: How managers understand wisdom in decision-making (2017) and Economic Wisdom for Managerial Decision-Making (2017). His forthcoming book with Laszlo Zsolnai is Responsible Research for Better Business. Mike is co-editor of The Macau Ricci Institute Journal and is a reviewer for a number of management journals.
Mike has taught online entrepreneurship MOOC courses for UIBE Beijing and is visiting professor at the International Business School of Suzhou at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. He is also Adjunct Professor at Gustavson School of Business, University of Victoria, and a member of its international advisory board.
Mike is a keynote speaker on global leadership issues at business conferences in China, Africa and Europe and for companies such as CRRC, Bosch China, Inspur and Google.
