Letay is the creator and screenwriter of Traytown (2020), Creators of Colour’s 2021 Big Pitch at TIFF Audience Choice award winner. She discovered her passion for filmmaking at the University of the West Indies, and at the 2019 Jamaica Feature Film Lab’s Pitch Competition, Letay pitched and won funding for her short film Traytown which has screened at multiple international film festivals. She has served as a narrative shorts programmer for the Slamdance Film Festival, and on the CineSpark Pitch Competition jury. Letay is a University of Victoria MFA in Writing alum, 2022 BIPOC TV & Film Episodic Writers’ Lab participant, and attended the 2023 European Film Market as an Emerging Producer in UNESCO's Transcultura Program and the EFM’s Diversity Toolbox Program. Letay is intentional about telling stories that reflect her Jamaican heritage and the multicultural aspects of Canada.
