Policy reviews

Read the update from UVic president Jamie Cassels about the university's commitment to improving its equity, diversity, and human rights policies.

The Equity and Human Rights (EQHR) office is responsible for leading and administering the university’s work in the areas of equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI). Three fundamental policies direct how EQHR and the university can respond to concerns and codify the university's values:

  • Sexualized Violence Prevention and Response Policy (GV0245)
  • Discrimination and Harassment (GV0205)
  • Human Rights, Equity and Fairness (GV0200)

The President has established an Advisory Committee of representatives that will come together to provide advice on the consultation and review process and policy drafting.

Note: Consultation leaders will not be able to respond to reports of sexualized violence. If you have a disclosure to report please contact EQHR by email at .

The policies will be considered consecutively, with the initial priority being the Sexualized Violence Prevention and Response Policy.
