Case Management Officer
Equity and Human Rights
First point of contact for university community members who are seeking information and support from Equity and Human Rights. Provides information, referrals, guidance, and support to all those that find their way to EQHR, with specific emphasis on the sexualized violence prevention and response policy and the discrimination and harassment policy.
Sexualized Violence Education and Prevention Officer

Supports the creation, implementation and delivery of tailored sexualized violence education and awareness activities and programming serving students, staff, and faculty.
Manager, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
Equity and Human Rights
Leads projects, programs and initiatives to advance equity, diversify and inclusion with a focus on institutional initiatives and including all aspects of the employment experience. Provides equity training for hiring committees.
Principal Strategist, Community Engagement, EDI, Anti-Racism Education
Equity and Human Rights
Works to enhance understanding of the university’s human rights, equity, diversity, inclusion, and Anti-Racism education goals and commitment to community engagement and participation. Facilitates collaboration between both campus partners and the wider Victoria communities to design an EDI and Anti-Racism project charter. Creates spaces for inclusive conversations about the different ways UVic and partners can best support each other in advancing EDI Anti-Racism. Collaborates with all stakeholders to develop education initiatives grounded in applied research and gap analysis, need assessments, and the development of concrete tools founded in best practices.
Manager, Case Resolution
Equity and Human Rights
Oversees, coordinates and implements EQHR’s responsibilities under Discrimination and Harassment (GV0205) and Sexualized Violence (GV0245) policies. Responsible for case resolution under these policies.
Project Manager, Equity and Diversity Training
Equity and Human Rights
Coordinates development of strategy and resources on equity, diversity and inclusion training for faculty and staff search committees and other groups.
Project Coordinator, Equity Action Planning and Policy
Equity and Human Rights
Works to accelerate transformation of the university’s systems and cultures towards practices of equity, inclusion and anti-racism through policy, planning and action. Participates in the development of university Equity Action Plan and policy review processes, including identifying EDI concerns, building shared knowledge and approaches, and co-developing educational materials and initiatives.
Manager, Sexualized Violence Education, Prevention and Support

Inquiries related to Sexualized Violence can be directed to Leah Shumka, eqharad@uvic.ca - Collaborates with key university units and stakeholders to coordinate sexualized violence education, prevention and response on campus. Develops tailored information and education about UVic’s expectations, support options, and trauma informed responses to disclosures or reports of sexualized violence for diverse groups on campus. Provides advice on matters related to sexualized violence, prevention and response.
Project Officer, Community Engagement
Equity and Human Rights
Supports the Principal Strategist in project, research, and communications work to advance equity, diversity, inclusion (EDI), and anti-racism in collaboration with on campus partners and the Greater Victoria community. Coordinates stakeholder engagement events such as 5 Days of Action; the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women; and other community outreach events relating to equity and human rights.
