Lauren Woolstencroft, a UVic ECE graduate, won five gold medals at the Winter Paralympics

March 22, 2010 - UVic alpine skier and alumna Lauren Woolstencroft set a new high for gold medals at a single Paralympic Games by winning five gold medals at the 2010 Games at Whistler, BC. Woolstencroft came first in all of her alpine skiing (standing) events - super-combined, downhill, slalom, giant slalom and super G.

Woolstencroft graduated from UVic with an electrical engineering degree in 2005, and has won a total of ten medals in her Paralympic career.
