ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: In this seminar I discuss some of the work that I have done in my Ph.D. to date.  One topic will be related to optical trapping measurements of protein collective motions (protein vibrational modes).  Such motions have been shown to be important to protein function, including allosteric modulation and conformational change.  I will discuss a theoretical model used to associate experimentally measured resonances with these motions.  A second topic will discuss a type of GPU accelerated electromagnetic mode solver based on complex coupled mode theory.
