ABSTRACT
Professor Jorge Angeles, Ph.D., P.Eng., F.C.S.M.E., F.A.S.M.E., of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, McGill University, will present a seminar on Uncertainty, Isotrophy, and Optimality in Design. Professor Angeles is a world-renowned engineer in the area of mechanisms and machines. He has made contributions to design methodology; mechanical design; geometric modelling; multibody dynamics; robot design and control; and the theory of kinematic chains. Angeles has authored or co-authored six books and numerous archival journal articles on the theory and design of mechanism and robotic systems. Angeles recently completed a four-year term as the president of the International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science (IFToMM).
