Giving to UVic education
Maintaining our place amongst the top faculties of education in the country relies on the generosity of many wonderful alumni, friends and community members.
Gifts to the faculty make it possible for us to continue to attract the brightest students, help those in financial need, invite renowned scholars to our lecture theatres, advance cutting-edge research and provide state-of-the-art technologies to our students and faculty members.
Although your valued gifts start here in the Faculty of Education, by no means do they end here. Your thoughtfulness makes it possible for our students and researchers to go that "extra mile" in their educational journey, transforming education in their communities, provinces and across the globe.
Education is a guaranteed investment in the future. Learn more about giving to the Faculty of Education.
Our priorities
One of the faculty’s top priorities is expanding the Aboriginal Teacher Education Program to meet the critical need for increased Aboriginal representation at the post-secondary level as well as in the teaching profession. The faculty is seeking external support to establish new programs in language and culture, counselling in Aboriginal communities and language revitalization.
A capital priority is to improve the physical environment of the MacLaurin Building including, for example, interactive displays, computerized directories and modernized classroom designs. These changes will enhance our sense of “place” and create an environment that allows instructors to model cutting-edge pedagogical methods.
The faculty is also seeking funds to support scholarships and bursaries that will enable students with a passion for teaching to realize their dreams.
