Research funders

Our goal is to help simplify the administration of research funds so that researchers can focus more time on their research activities. Research Accounting prepares all the research fund financial reports as required by the funding agencies.

• Research accounting administers grants from more than 250 different funders
• The university received $139.7 million in revenue in 2022/2023
• 33% of the research funding UVic received is from the Tri-agency ($46 million)
• In 2022/2023, 579 new research accounts were opened and there were 2,203 active research grants
• Research accounting prepares over 1,500 financial statements each year
