2022-2023 Fiscal Year End Deadlines
The 2023 TD1 Tax forms will not be available until Late January 2023
Payroll changes, deadlines, and news for the 2022 calendar year end.
The payroll ticketing system is now in place. All new payroll requests through the payroll@uvic.ca email and through online submission forms will generate a ticket. The system also allows UVic employees to view current and historical requests.
Minimum wage increase, new time entry reports, and updated processes for the TD1-IN form.
Update on payroll changes for the 2023 fiscal year
Starting this year, UVic will be observing the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30. Pay day has been moved from September 30th to the 29th.
Employees who worked from home during 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic are eligible to claim Home Office Expenses on their 2021 income tax filing. Under the CRA’s administrative policy for 2021, employees may choose to claim home office expenses using one of two claim methods, simplified temporary flat rate or detailed. The university encourages you to determine which method best fits your personal income tax filing requirements and to contact your department if you require a signed T2200S form used only for the detailed method. The simplified temporary flat rate method does not require any forms or confirmation from the university or copies of receipts.
The Accounting front counter will continue to be open everyday from the hours of 9:00am - 4:00pm to accommodate on-campus pick up and deliveries. Please use the drop box to the right of the counter if the counter is closed. Thank you!
