In January, UVic President Jamie Cassels unveiled a far-reaching package of initiatives that will accelerate the implementation of the university’s new Strategic Framework and drive UVic forward in line with the priorities the university community identified during the development of the framework.

On Sept. 19, 2018, the official launch of the university’s new Strategic Framework took place at the President's Campus Update.

The next President's Campus Update will outline highlights of the Phase 1 strategic plan consultation process and share thoughts about areas of direction for the draft plan.

By the time the online exchange closed on Oct. 8, more than 1,600 faculty, staff, students, alumni and other community members shared more than 3,300 thoughts and assigned almost 88,000 stars.

The five-year term of the university's 2012 Strategic Plan, "A Vision for the Future: Building on Excellence," has closed. The 2012 Strategic Plan close out report provides a comprehensive summary of activities both complete and ongoing and is intended to be the final report on the goals, objectives and strategies of the plan.

UVic is ready to sharpen its focus and determine its future direction through an inclusive strategic planning process. As we look to the future, the development of a new strategic framework provides an important opportunity for campus community members to reflect on the changing post-secondary environment, discuss new opportunities and work together to develop strategic directions for the next five years (2018–2023).
