Nancy Clark awarded 2023 Scholar Award, Michael Smith Health Research BC
The Scholar Program supports early-career health researchers who are building leading-edge health research programs and expanding their potential to make significant contributions to their field. UVic associate professor Nancy Clark, received the award for her project, “Promoting integrated mental health care services and supports for refugees in BC.”
"It's such a great privilege and honour to recieve this award and help support all students interested in social justice issues affecting people who experience forced migration and resettlement in Canada," says Clark.
According to Clark’s proposal, “the goal of her research is to develop and conduct an evaluation of existing mental health services and supports for refugees in BC. Findings will inform primary health care services, mental health services and settlement services about what promotes integrated mental health care for refugees in BC.”
Clark is the Director Social Justice Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, UVic.
