Admission requirements

To be eligible for admission, candidates must complete at least two full years of post-secondary study (30.0 units of coursework), including the necessary prerequisite courses, and have:

  • a minimum overall average of 65% (2.5/4.0 on the UBC scale) on all first-year prerequisite courses (all attempts), and
  • a minimum overall average of 65% (2.5/4.0 on the UBC scale) on the last 15.0 units of coursework completed.

Note 1: Chemistry 11 or 12 is strongly recommended for BIOL 186.
Note 2: Students lacking Chemistry 12 must also enroll in CHEM 091.
Note 3: Electives must include 3.0 units from the Faculties of Humanities or Social Sciences and sufficient coursework to bring overall total to at least 30.0 units.
