  • Degree awarded: Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS)

Admission requirements

To be eligible for admission, candidates must have:

  • Canadian citizenship, or be a Permanent Resident of Canada,
  • a four year bachelor's degree from a recognized institution,
  • a minimum B average (3.0 on University of Manitoba's GPA scale) in the most recent 30 units of study (full time or part time). A competitive GPA is considered 3.5 on the University of Manitoba's GPA Scale.
  • 3 letters of recommendation
  • Minimum of a B on the University of Manitoba's scale in the below listed required courses
  • Statement of Intent
  • CV/Resume
  • Eligibility for registration on the College of Physician and Surgeons of Manitoba Educational Registry

Required prerequisite courses

The MPAS program requires applicants to have completed undergraduate courses in Biochemistry, Human Anatomy, and Human Physiology. Suggested courses include microbiology and psychology. The below listed examples may satisfy the admission requirements are included below, but please note that these courses are not guaranteed to meet the prerequisite areas. Applicants are advised to read section 5 of the MPAS Admission Requirements page for detailed information on the course content the University of Manitoba is looking for, and select prerequisite course equivalents based on that information.
