Rebecca Jantzen receives CAN TAP TALENT CRP Internship award for 2025

Congratulations to Rebecca Jantzen on her Clinical Research Professional Internship grant for 2025, funded through CIHR and awarded by the CAN TAP TALENT clinical trials training platform!

Rebecca Jantzen receives CAN TAP TALENT CRP Internship award

Rebecca is our Research Lab Manager, supporting innovative digital health interventions, health promotion, and prevention of chronic disease through lifestyle change. Her internship hosts for 2025 will be the internationally renowned Active Aging Research Team (at UBC). Through their mentorship, Rebecca will grow her understanding of clinical trials research operations while developing self-efficacy through hands-on experience in implementation and scale-up science.

The CRP award funding will allow Rebecca to dedicate 47 days to internship activities over 10 months (January-October 2025), including working directly with the Active Aging Research Team as well as completing various web-based clinical trials training modules offered through CANTRAIN and other online platforms. Access to formal training programs during the internship period will result in numerous certifications, including professional designation with SoCRA.

While being mentored by Dr. McKay, Dr. Sims-Gould, and others from the Active Aging Research Team at UBC, Rebecca will gain practical skills in intervention design, implementation, and scale-out; prioritizing equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility in research; data management planning; authentic community engagement; and innovative knowledge mobilization strategies. Forging relationships with Active Aging Research Team members may also lead to exciting future collaborations!
