Oped: To Boko Haram, educated girls are a threat

CFGS's Research Associate Ronald Crelinsten has often argued, '"the best long-term solution to terrorism and violent extremism is the empowerment of women and girls through universal education and economic independence. The fact that certain terrorist groups direct their violence against teachers, students and schools suggests that they understand this only too well and confirms their deep-seated fear of education and enlightenment."
