Competitive procurement process on BC Bid
As a publicly-funded institution, UVic is bound by the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), between Canada and the European Union; the Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA), between Canadian provinces and territories; and the New West Partnership Trade Agreement (NWPTA), between British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
A competitive procurement ensures that the procurement of goods, services and construction work is fair, equitable, transparent and competitive. Using this process allows UVic to receive the best overall value and secure value for money by protecting public interest. Procuring goods and services over $75,000 CAD, and construction over $100,000 (exclusive of taxes, duties customs and freight charges) may require a competitive procurement process. UVic publishes the opportunities via BC Bid, a service provided by the Province of British Columbia. Through BC Bid, opportunities are automatically posted to MERX.
Most low-value items are acquired through UVic's Commercial Card (C Card) program, at the discretion of individual departments and cardholders.
Electronic Submission Portal
UVic accepts responses to public procurement opportunities electronically through the UVic Euna Procurement Portal. Contractors must first register at no cost with Euna Procurement to submit a response to UVic opportunities. UVic is not liable or responsible for any delays or technical difficulties with electronic submissions.
