Biosafety imports, exports and transfers
In order to import or receive any biohazardous material you need to:
- Have a valid UVic Biosafety registration
- Contact the Biosafety Officer for approval
Human or terrestrial animal pathogen
If you want to import, export or transfer a risk group 2 or greater human pathogen or terrestrial animal pathogen you must contact the Biosafety Officer.
Animals and animal by-products
If you want to import pathogens causing foreign animal and emerging animal diseases; animals, animal products and by-products, tissue, sera and blood that are infected with animal pathogens, you must complete the following form:
Plant pest
If you want to import a plant pest, please refer to the CFIA import procedures and containment standards.
Aquatic animal pathogen
If you want to import an aquatic animal pathogen, please refer to the CFIA import procedures and containment standards.
