UVic United Way campaign: Final push toward fundraising goal

Though the temperature may be dropping outside, the UVic United Way thermometers are only getting hotter, with the 2014 campaign 88 per cent of the way to the $250,000 goal. “With two weeks left in the campaign, we are quickly closing in on our goal of a quarter of a million dollars,” says 2014 UVic Campaign Chair Kane Kilbey. “With the holiday season arriving, the need in the community is greater than ever. I would like to challenge everyone to become a UVic Hero, give to United Way and help UVic complete a successful campaign by shooting past our goal.”

Event update

The Winter Artisans Market (formerly the Hearts & Hands Craft Fair) will run Nov. 25 and 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the lobby of the University Centre. Drop by to find unique gifts for friends and family as we approach the holiday season.

That Chemistry Show, presented by the University of Victoria Chemistry Students’ Society, takes place Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. Contact chemsoc@uvic.ca for ticketing information. Fun for all ages, this wildly entertaining show is a great way to connect kids and their families with science and learning.

Look for a splash at the Chillin’ for Charity dunk tank event, organized by the Gustavson School of Business’ JDC West Business competition team. The dunk tank will be set up outside the BEC building on Thursday, Nov. 27, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
