Hundreds of UVic students and their families will gather on campus this month to celebrate reaching an academic milestone. A total of 1,396 degrees, certificates and diplomas will be conferred.

Honorary degrees

An honorary degree—the university’s highest academic honour—will be presented to four exceptional individuals at Fall 2017 Convocation: Nuu-chah-nulth Elder, clinical counsellor and residential school survivor Barney Williams; Gitxsan leader Neil Sterritt; legal scholar and patron of the arts David Flaherty; and Sheridan Scott, a major influence in Canadian broadcasting, telecommunications and competition law. Speeches will be webcast live.
