  • Galloping Goose Regional Trail: Multi-use path connecting downtown Victoria with the Sooke Potholes.
  • Lochside Regional Trail: Multi-use path connecting Victoria with Swartz Bay.
  • Butchart Gardens: One of Canada's premier show gardens. 800 Benvenuto Avenue (20km north of Victoria).
  • Beacon Hill ParkLarge urban park located just south of downtown Victoria, south of Southgate Avenue, east of Douglas Road, and west of Cook Street (free).
  • Government House: The Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia's private house has its meticulously maintained grounds open to the public. 1401 Rockland Avenue. Dawn to dusk (free).
  • Mount Tolmie Park: Just south of the University campus, offers sweeping views of Greater Victoria and beyond (free).

  • Campus Tours: book your spot on one of the daily campus tours, offered from Monday through Saturday.

Other interesting things to see & do

  • Cook Street Village is great neighbourhood to visit if you have extra time in Victoria. Enjoy any of the dining or shopping options, or stroll all the way down the street to the ocean at Dallas Road.
  • Inner Harbour Causeway: Take a stroll by the water and enjoy the various street performers and vendors. Whale watching, kayake tours, and water taxis also available.
