Sekani Dakelth

Sekani Dakelth (she/her) has been working within and beside the Trans acceptance movement in the Downtown Eastside (DTES) for many years. She is very passionate about folks getting to achieve freedom and acceptance. She talks to parents and youth groups about acceptance and how important having supports is for youth.


Sandra Laframboise

Sandra Laframboise (Two-spirit / Trans) is Algonquin/Cree-Métis, a Two-Spirit Spiritual leader, an Elder, a Knowledge Keeper, and a Transgender person. She has led ceremonies throughout North America and Europe, most recently in England. She has also presented research in Switzerland, South Africa, Belfast, and Alaska. Sandra has been an advocate for LGBT Community and Transgender Rights since 1971.


Kai Minosh Pyle (not able to attend)

Kai Minosh Pyle is a Métis and Baawiting Anishinaabe writer originally from Green Bay, Wisconsin and currently located at the University of Illinois. Their scholarly and creative work focuses on Two-Spirit Anishinaabe and Métis history, language revitalization, and queer/trans Indigenous literature.


Kyle Shaughnessy

Kyle Shaughnessy is a trans and Two-Spirit educator, social worker, and writer of Tłı̨chǫ Dene, Irish, and Ukrainian background. He is originally from all over the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and rural BC. Kyle’s academic and writing work focuses on intersections between Two-Spirit ways of being and land based teachings and ethics. He works as an Indigenous Educational Consultant at the University of British Columbia on unceded xʷməθkʷəy̓əm territory.


Saylesh Wesley

Saylesh Wesley (m2f / she / her) is a two-spirit educator and Knowledge Keeper who is of Stó:lō and Tsimshian decent. Currently she works as an Indigenous Enhancement Education Teacher for the Chilliwack School District and also continues to present at a wide variety of events as it relates to her two-spirit and indigenous teachings.
