Canada’s Copyright Act and UVic’s copyright policy affect how you can use and produce copyright-protected materials during your time at UVic. These documents inform your rights when you create articles, books, photographs, teaching materials or other intellectual or artistic works.

As a faculty member at UVic, you generally own copyright in the works you create through research (with some exceptions). Learn about your intellectual property rights and how to register your copyright.
