Appeal: Review of Current Law and Law Reform

Appeal Law Journal

Appeal: Review of Current Law and Law Reform is a double-blind, peer-reviewed law journal published through the Faculty of Law at the University of Victoria (Victoria, British Columbia, Canada).

Appeal publishes articles, case commentaries, and book reviews that offer insightful commentary on Canadian and comparative law. This law journal also promotes legal scholarship in its political, philosophical, and social contexts. Appeal is student-run, and its Editorial Board aims to publish primarily student compositions.

Submissions:

We are now accepting submissions for Volume 27. The deadline for submissions will be announced in fall 2021.

Please send submissions electronically to appeal@uvic.ca. All submissions must be saved as Microsoft Word documents, and they must adhere to the Canadian Guide to Uniform Legal Citation, 9th Edition (the "McGill Guide").

Submissions may be any length, but a 3,000 to 9,000 word limit is suggested. The Editorial Board will consider the content of a submission and the form of the submission when assessing word limits (book reviews should contain fewer words than essays, as an example).

Papers should have been completed while studying at the undergraduate or graduate law student level, and submissions must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
