Andrew Murray came to UVic in 1990 to do an MA. After beginning a PhD in 1992, he gradually morphed into a sessional instructor and then a continuing sessional. In 2014, he was hired as an Assistant Teaching Professor with his primary responsibilities initially being in the Division of Academic Writing. His doctoral dissertation (unfinished) was on representations of reading and literacy in Chaucer. His primary focus now is teaching, particularly ENSH 101, 250, 315, and 342V as well as ATWP 110.
Interests include Chaucer, the pedagogy of teaching writing and literature, contemporary fiction in English, the contemporary bildungsroman, vampires, and Arsenal FC.
