Thomas Frederick (Bill) Orr Scholarship
Mrs. Mary Orr established the endowed fund to honour the memory of her husband, Thomas Frederick (Bill) Orr. Mr. Orr was a successful Vancouver businessman, active in municipal government, and a valued member of the community. Mrs. Orr was born and raised in Victoria and it was here that she met her future husband when he was stationed at Esquimalt where he served and captained navy ships until 1945. They married and went to live in West Vancouver. Two of Mrs. Orr’s grandchildren returned to study at the University of Victoria and provided the inspiration for the establishment of the endowed fund. Mrs. Orr and her family wanted to help the Faculty of Business to deliver a business education rich in student development and leadership skills.
