About John

His work lies at the intersection of neurophysiology, nonlinear optics, real-time instrumentation, and behavioral neuroscience. Dr. White’s teaching focuses on subjects including signal processing, machine learning, computational modeling, and theoretical neuroscience. His group has published around 150 refereed articles and conference proceedings on these subjects. He is a Fellow of the American Institute for Biological and Medical Engineering, the International Academy of Medical and Biological Engineering, and the Biomedical Engineering Society.

 

Dr. White has a long record of academic leadership, including serving as the Executive Director of the Brain Institute at the University of Utah, Chair of Biomedical Engineering at Boston University, and President of the Biomedical Engineering Society.
