Title of Talk:
Water-Energy-Food nexus approach for understanding groundwater depletion in southern India

Short Bio:
Prasanna Sampath is a Groundwater Modeller at WSP Canada, a leading global engineering consulting firm. Until recently, he was an Associate Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). He received his Ph.D. from Michigan State University in 2014 for his work on coupled multi-scale groundwater models to understand the hydrology of groundwater-fed wetlands. His interests lie in the application of hydrologic modeling and other data-intensive techniques for groundwater resource management, contaminant remediation, surface-groundwater interactions, and streamflow depletion. His work cuts across various disciplines, including civil engineering, urban planning, economics, agricultural and environmental sciences.
