Bio: 
Dr. Yihan (Victoria) Shao is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Victoria. She received both her bachelor’s degree and her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Structural and Earthquake Engineering) from McGill University. Her research focuses on seismic performance and risk assessment of civil structures through high-fidelity simulation, aiming to promote hazard resilience and sustainability of infrastructure systems. In addition to her research, Dr. Shao is dedicated to engineering education and brings eight years of experience in teaching undergraduate Math and Civil Engineering courses across multiple levels.
