Interested in participating in convocation? Each year hundreds of staff, faculty, retirees and students lend their time to make convocation a success.


Academic Procession

Senate, faculty, academic staff and emeriti are invited to join the academic procession on stage at one or more of the ceremonies.

Eligible senate, faculty and academic staff will receive and email when registration opens.

PhD Supervisors

Are you a supervisor of a PhD graduand attending convocation? You play an important role in their convocation day. As their supervisor you attend convocation, accompany them throughout the ceremony and place a hood over their head during the conferral of degrees.

Supervisor invitations to attend convocation are emailed by the Faculty of Graduate Studies. The email includes instructions about how to register and what to expect on the day of the ceremony.

Volunteers (Greeters, Robers & Marshals)

Volunteers are essential to ensuring our Convocation ceremonies run smoothly. All roles work directly with students.

Opportunities are open to everyone: current and retired staff, current and emeritus faculty, students and alumni, and community members.
