Liam O'Malley

Hi, I am Liam! I was born in Cape Town, South Africa and grew up in Duncan, BC, Canada. I completed my undergraduate degree in Neurobiology here at UVIC, inspired by a deep curiosity about the human mind and body, and a desire to understand the mechanisms underlying health and behaviour. During this time, I had the opportunity to work as a research assistant in the Digital Health Lab. It was in these experiences that I developed a strong motivation to learn more about Artificial Intelligence and Health Care, leading me to continue my work with the Lab as an MSc Student. As a certified Emergency Medical Responder, I am uniquely equipped to relate theoretical frameworks to their practical applications.

Outside of the lab, I work at Frontrunners Victoria, using my health science background to help people have confidence in their movement. When I am not studying or working, I enjoy training for long-course triathlon, drinking strong coffee, and eating everything on my dinner plate!
