Melissa Giesbrecht

Melissa Giesbrecht, PhD, is a Research Associate at the University of Victoria's Institute on Aging and Lifelong Health. As a health geographer by training, she is interested in the spatial and place-based dimensions of health and health care, with a particular focus on end-of-life. Her research interests include qualitatively applying critical, equity-based approaches to explore experiences of, and access to, end-of-life care for diverse population groups. She completed her MA (2009) and PhD (2013) at Simon Fraser University, in the Department of Geography.
