PACACH's Kelli Stajduhar, Melissa Giesbrecht and Carren Dujela are co-authors of “We are to be like machines…fill the bed before it gets cold”: Exploring the emotional geographies of healthcare providers caring for dying residents in long-term care facilities, recently published in Social Science and Medicine. This publication highlights the experiences of care aides and nursing professionals in the provision of palliative approaches to care in long-term care. The work is part of a pan-Canadian research program focused on improving care in the last 18 months of life for people residing in long term care facilities.
