Thank you for adding sprinkles

The results are in: Giving Tuesday 2018 at UVic was the best one yet. On Nov. 27, in just 24 hours, more than 1,100 faculty, staff, students, donors and alumni came together to give more than $30,000 (and counting) in support of student clubs and activities on campus.

This is the third year UVic has participated in Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving after the consumerism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Last year, your gifts helped students launch rockets, host conferences, attend competitions and travel overseas to do volunteer work. Together, these opportunities are what makes the UVic student experience extraordinary—much like added "sprinkles" are to a cupcake or cookie.

The day started with hot chocolate, whipped cream and sprinkles at the fountain. Students, staff and faculty sent more than 130 Giving Gram cookies with messages of appreciation—a real day-brightener! Food Services sold 142 limited edition cupcakes, donating $2 from every purchase to the Giving Tuesday Fund.
