UVic closed Dec. 20 due to heavy snowfall

Updated: 4 p.m.

As of Dec. 20 at 4 p.m., the UVic campus remains closed due to heavy snowfall. We will share an update about Dec. 21 campus hours and exams by 6:30 a.m. tomorrow.

This decision will depend on:

  • Whether BC Transit buses are running. As of 4 p.m. BC Transit bus service has been suspended.
  • Whether additional snow accumulates overnight.
  • Whether campus conditions are safe enough for face-to-face exams to proceed. Although crews are working to plow and salt priority areas in parking lots, pathways and building entrances, freezing temperatures overnight may make conditions too icy.

If your exam was cancelled today, information about the revised schedule is now available. Please stay safe, and reach out to your instructor or department if you have questions.
