Province asks residents to avoid travel

As COVID-19 cases rise across the province and the country, BC’s provincial health officer (PHO) is asking residents to avoid non-essential travel.
For now – avoid travel to other regions inside or outside of the province unless it is essential. If your UVic work or studies require travel, consider if you can delay these plans or do it virtually.
If you must travel for essential reasons, wash your hands often and practice physical distancing. Respect the communities you're travelling to by staying within your household bubble and sticking to the outdoors as much as possible.
These recommendations are in addition to the restrictions already in place for international travel.
