Still time to invest in your community through the United Way

As the holiday season approaches, there is still time to put the United Way on your gift list. As of Nov. 30 the UVic campaign had raised approximately $216,000 from pledges and fundraising at campus events, including the VW Bug Push, Hearts and Hands Craft Fair, Plasma Car Races, UVic Libraries Book and Record Sale and That Chemistry Show performance. A follow-up mail-out of pledge forms took place at the end of November, and the campaign committee hopes the reminder will translate into a December flurry of donations.

“Thank you to those of you who have already contributed. We are so grateful for your generosity, and we are closing in on this year's goal,” says Mary Ellen Purkis, UVic 2012 campaign chair. “Although these are challenging and uncertain times, we rely on the support of everyone who has the ability to support the campaign. If you have not yet made your donation, please consider returning your pledge form before Dec. 14 and you will be entered in a draw for a special grand prize.”
