SDG video contest

You can earn $500 for sharing your vision about how the campus community can advance the United Nations SDGs. Tell us in 60 seconds or less your idea to advance one or more of the 17 SDGs on campus. We're looking for creative, action-oriented solutions.

Contest deadline: Feb. 1, 2022

What we're looking for in the videos:

Creative, feasible and action-oriented solutions to advance one or more of the 17 SDGs.  The focus is the UVic campus but could also include broader communities/our local region in scale that respond to this question:

As a campus community we want to advance the 17 SDGs, what can we do to support this vision?

You might start by finding out more about the 17 SDGs, why these are important and how can we as the UVic community respond in meaningful ways? These goals are a global call to combat the climate crisis and to reduce the inequalities in the world and much more.  We want your creative ideas on how to make UVic more sustainable and equitable for the future!

Who can participate?

Open to all University of Victoria students: undergraduate and graduate, from any faculty, full and part time students. Individual or small teams of up to four members allowed.

How do I submit a video?

Please send your videos to unsdgs@uvic.ca.

Winners will receive:

  • Three prizes valued at $500 (individual entries) or $1000 (small teams up to four)
  • An opportunity to present your video to United Nations delegates and City Officials at the Lieutenant Governors House for a reception launching UVic’s CIFAL hub in the new year
  • Promotion of your video in our local communities and UVic Communications
  • Winners will be announced in February 2022
