Expert on new "Transgender in Canada" poll

The following University of Victoria faculty member is available to media to discuss the comprehensive new public opinion poll, “Transgender in Canada,” released today by the Angus Reid Institute:

Aaron Devor (Faculty of Social Sciences), the Chair in Transgender Studies at UVic, was consulted on questions for the new survey and is an expert in the development of the social movement in North America for support and acceptance of trans and gender nonconforming people. As the world’s only chair in transgender studies, he works to inspire research and discussion on crucial issues for society. The founder and academic director of UVic’s Transgender Archives, he is also an elected member of the elite International Academy of Sex Research and an elected Fellow of the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality.
