International awards for university advancement

Staff in Alumni and Development were recently recognized as leaders in university advancement for several innovative, creative and inspiring projects.

For the second consecutive year, UVic received a grand gold award at the global Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Circle of Excellence Awards for its Giving Tuesday initiative, while also winning a bronze for best video on a shoestring with its lighthearted how-to video for alumni on how to get a One Card.

Nationally, at the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE) Prix d’Excellence, UVic was recognized with three gold awards—one for Best Donor Relations Initiative for UVic's Impact Day 2021; one for Best Annual Giving Initiative for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion: UVic's 2021 Comprehensive Fall Appeal; and another for Best Creativity on a Shoestring for the Great Giving Gram-alanche (part of Giving Tuesday). A silver was awarded to Best Student and/or Young Alumni Initiative for Giving Tuesday’s Students play it forward. The 2021 Report to Donors received a bronze for Best Report to Donors.
