Zuomin Dong and his research team have studied and built advanced hybrid vehicles for a decade, winning dozens of awards. The team is now working on hybrid electric propulsion systems for ships, heavy-duty mining trucks and trains.

One year after the launch of the International Plan, a UVic delegation led by President Jamie Cassels departs Oct. 10 for Vietnam and China. The official visit to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Shanghai will help accelerate the momentum of internationalization at UVic and deepen our connections in Asia.

The Ring
As digital technology becomes increasingly integrated and more advanced, so too does the threat to cyber-security. UVic’s Information Security and Object Technology research lab has been addressing this threat since 1999. Coordinator and research engineer Issa Traoré admits it’s a constant battle to keep ahead of hacker expertise and adaptability.
