I obtained my undergraduate degree from the University of the Fraser Valley, where my major research project explored the connections and distinctions between Marx, Weber and Braudel’s conceptualizations of capitalism. I look forward to engaging in further disciplinary cross-pollination as I join the CSPT program.

A History MA student, I am interested not only in the history of ideas, but also the study of history as ideas: the interplay of narrative and “event.” In particular, I’m interested in how power mechanisms establish boundaries of legitimized knowledge, thereby arbitrating the scope of popular ideological orientation. By chipping away at the narrative foundations of hegemonic culture, I seek to contribute to the intellectual destabilization necessary for alternative configurations of society to be (re)established.
