Bio
I started teaching at UVic in 2012 and the first course that I taught entirely online was in 2014. Students in my classes enjoy my enthusiasm for the subject matter and appreciate my interest in increasing student confidence and willingness to participate.
In addition to teaching courses in the Faculty of Humanities and the Division of Continuing Studies, I am active in the local arts community as a flamenco dancer and I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Hispanic and Italian Studies (UVic).
My PhD research focuses on dream literature and connections between Dante’s Divine Comedy and the poem “El sueño” by Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz. Some of my other research interests include Italian literature, Hispanic Golden Age and Baroque literature, methods for increasing student participation in language learning settings, and flamenco dance, music, and song.
