Darren Hudson is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the School of Health Information Science at the University of Victoria and an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Critical Care Medicine at the University of Alberta. He serves as an Intensivist in the General Systems and Neuroscience Intensive Care Units at the University of Alberta Hospital. Dr. Hudson holds a Master of Science in Health Information Science from the University of Victoria and a Medical Degree from the University of Calgary.

His professional expertise focuses on the integration of medical informatics within clinical workflows, specifically regarding the design, implementation, and optimization of provincial clinical information systems. As a Physician Design Lead for Connect Care and the Medical Director for the eCritical Critical Care Information System, he provides medical leadership for large-scale system integrations and digital health strategy. His research interests include physician engagement strategies, EHR usability, and the application of artificial intelligence in medicine.

Dr. Hudson is also an active contributor to medical education and clinical innovation. He has held numerous leadership roles, including Program Director for the Adult Critical Care Medicine Training Program and Chair of the Critical Care Area Council for Alberta Health Services. He leverages digital media for clinical training through a self-produced YouTube channel and has developed various medical applications and provincial training websites.
