Pritma is a nurse executive with over 23 years of experience spanning clinical practice, health system leadership, and digital health innovation. She began her career as a medical-surgical nurse in the United States before moving to Canada in 2006, where she pioneered occupational health initiatives at WestJet. As the airline’s first nurse, she built and led an interdisciplinary team delivering disability management, mental health and addictions support, and enterprise-wide wellness programming. She later partnered with oil and gas organizations to implement employee health strategies and occupational health technology solutions.

In 2014, Pritma joined Alberta Health Services as the inaugural Provincial Director for Electronic Quality and Safety. She led the adoption of an enterprise eSafety framework and advanced systems safety during Canada’s largest electronic health record implementation, Connect Care. She earned her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Yale University, where she developed the eSafety Checklist, a tool designed to support the safe configuration of electronic health records, now used within AHS.

Pritma has also contributed to professional regulation and academic leadership. She served on the Board of the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta, providing governance oversight for 38,000 registered nurses, and from 2018 to 2020 held Adjunct Assistant Professor appointments at the University of Victoria and the University of Calgary.

Since 2019, she has founded and led multiple healthcare ventures. She designed and led the development of Healthgig, a secure credential management platform later acquired by a U.S.-based healthcare technology company. In 2020, she founded Lavender, a nurse-led virtual psychiatry and therapy practice integrating medication management and therapy within a single-provider model. Lavender has grown to more than 220 staff and serves 35 states, with nationwide expansion underway. She also founded The In Team, a clinician-led medical virtual assistant company supporting healthcare practices through global clinical talent.

Pritma thrives in complexity and ambiguity, bringing together clinical insight, systems thinking, and digital innovation to solve some of healthcare’s most pressing challenges. Her work focuses on translating research into scalable, real-world solutions that improve patient outcomes, strengthen the healthcare workforce, and drive meaningful gains in quality, safety, and efficiency. She remains committed to advancing the future of digital health through thoughtful leadership, interdisciplinary collaboration, and bold innovation.
