Biography

Dr. Ignace Ng joined the Gustavson School of Business in 1991 and has been instrumental in the internationalization of the program. He acts as “champion” of the international specialization and used to serve as program director to the Master of Global Business (MGB) program.

Ignace’s research interests include the examination of human resource management practices, training effectiveness and the benefits of networking, particularly in Asian workplaces. His goal is to identify the various channels through which network helps the effectiveness of a manager. His work has been published in numerous industrial relations and human resource journals and recently in the International Journal of Human Resources and International Journal of Human Resource Management, the Journal of Business Research, Asia Pacific Journal of Management and Organizational Studies, Asia Pacific Business Review, the Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences and the International Human Resources Journal.

Prior to his arrival at UVic, Ignace was an associate professor at the University of Saskatchewan. From 1996 to 1998, he was the director of MBA programs.
