Zoe's Award for Women in Second Year Engineering and Computer Science

Zoe’s award was created by a woman who earned a PhD at UVic in the social sciences, but who was fortunate in her career to work with women in all areas of science and engineering. She saw how difficult their academic journeys had been and used her dissertation to further investigate the role of women in science and later to promote careers in science and engineering to young women. Zoe’s award is named after her granddaughter, who she hopes will have the freedom and support to pursue any career she chooses when the time comes.
