Patty Clarke Award for Students with a Physical Disability

Patty was a UVic alumna (Bachelor of Arts 1984) and contacted the Planned Giving office in 2021 regarding her bequest. Obituary (source: Vancouver Sun):

With great sadness and hearts broken we announce the passing of Patty Ellen Louise Clarke. She left peacefully on June 9, 2024 at sixty-four years of age. Patty loved her family and cherished her friends and their children, always putting others first. She had courage facing lifelong physical challenges and was adamantly independent. Patty was a proud graduate of the University of Victoria. Humble, even though she was awarded the Order of BC for her vast contributions to various committees and work in access programs for people with disabilities. Always adventurous, she found joy in sailing, kayaking and hiking and loved attending concerts. Travel was her passion and she enjoyed many trips with her friends. Patty will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date and all of you that knew her are invited.
